There are a number of Walter motors preserved around the world. Not all are on public display, but there is sufficient variety to satisfy most general information seekers.

Walter motors are well worth visiting to study, as their open design gives ample opportunity to peer into the frame: to see the arrangement of the parts, how the pipes lead the propellants around the system, and to marvel at the very high standard of engineering involved.

The table below shows as many Walter motors as I have been able to track down, and where they can be found. In certain instances I have had to rely on other "Komet" fans around the world to supply me with information, but I have tried to confirm that the motors are actually present or on display. However, a certain amount of movement of museum exhibits invariably takes place, so please call museums and collections in advance of any proposed visit to avoid a wasted journey.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has any up to date news on any movements, so I can keep as reliable a list as possible.

1     Wroughton is the satellite store for the Science Museum, and is not located in central London. It is at Wroughton airfield near Swindon in Wiltshire, some eighty or ninety miles from London. It is not open to the public except on public viewing days. Serious researchers will be granted access if they telephone to make an appointment.

The above is by no means an exhaustive list of motors. It shows units which I have been able to study personally or which have been confirmed by the observations of others. However, there are a number of Messerschmitt Me. 163 airframes surviving around the world which may well have Walter motors installed. These are listed below, and upon confirmation of details, they will be added to the primary resource.
